National Energy Improvement Fund (NEIF)'s Peter Krajsa Featured in Authority Magazine Online Series Highlighting B Corp™ Certified Businesses
The National Energy Improvement Fund, LLC (NEIF) was recently spotlighted in an online series The B Corp Advantage: Unlocking the Benefits of Purpose-Driven Certification published by Authority Magazine.
Representing NEIF, Peter Krajsa, Co-Chair and Managing Member, spoke on the company’s journey to becoming B Corp certified. Additionally, Krajsa shared how the certification aligns with NEIF’s core values a business — achieving a balance between profit and benefiting people.
“We certainly want to make money, but we also want to do the right thing,” Krajsa shared in the article. “When we were organizing the National Energy Improvement Fund, I learned about benefit corporations and realized that was the direction we wanted to take as it embodies our mission and the way we intended to do business.”
NEIF is an energy efficiency lender that specializes in making homes and buildings stronger, healthier, and more energy efficient. In 2019, the company first underwent the B Impact Assessment: a series of questions measuring practices on governance, workers, community, the environment, and customers. Since then, NEIF has successfully maintained its B Corp status, with Krajsa stating that an internal focus on compliance — regarding lending practices, corporate policies, etc. — has helped the company adhere to B Corp standards.
