NATIONAL ENERGY IMPROVEMENT FUND’S CERTIFIED B CORP
ENERGY IMPROVEMENT FINANCING PROGRAMS EXPAND INTO RHODE ISLAND

US Department of Energy Home Improvement Expert Lender to make fixed rate financing programs for Heating, Cooling (HVAC), Windows, Roofing, Insulation and other energy and resilience upgrades available for work performed by approved Rhode Island contractors.

ALLENTOWN, PA, November 9, 2020 The National Energy Improvement Fund, LLC (NEIF) neifund.org, a Certified B Corp™ energy efficiency and resilience improvement lender has been granted its Rhode Island Lender License and is now offering its EnergyPlus home improvement and commercial financing programs throughout the state. NEIF offers trusted fixed-rate, low monthly payment financing for improvements that make homes and buildings efficient, strong, comfortable and healthy. As a benefit corporation its mission is to increase the affordability of efficiency and resilience improvements. Typical point of purchase financing offered by contractors are credit card type programs and promotional options such as “zero percent” with administrative costs that can increase the ultimate price to the consumer. NEIF focuses on fully compliant, transparent true monthly payment financing with fixed rate and terms more like auto financing than credit cards. Because there are no fees for the contractor to absorb, they can offer affordable low payment options for their best price to the consumer. NEIF’s EnergyPlus loan provides unsecured, instant credit decision, fixed rate financing from $2,500 to $35,000 with terms up to ten years with no penalty for pre-payment. Eligible improvements include most makes and models of heating and cooling systems, roofing, windows, insulation and related upgrades. Commercial and non-profit projects can be financed for larger amounts. All work must be performed by contractors who have met the financial and ethical standards of NEIF.

With a lending legacy from 1947, the National Energy Improvement Fund was organized in 2017 as a for-profit Benefit Corporation, operating as a full-service, multi-state licensed consumer and commercial lender. It has funded nearly 5,000 energy and resilience improvements delivered through a network of over 800 qualified contractors nationally. Led by energy financing pioneers Peter Krajsa and Matthew Brown and a team responsible for over $800 million in energy financing programs, it received its certification as a B Corporation® in 2018 and was named a U.S. Department of Energy Home Improvement Expert™ Partner in 2019.

NEIF is headquartered in Allentown, PA and Denver, CO. The New England region is managed by Greg Burns, (gburns@neifund.org) an energy industry veteran.
