PRESS RELEASE: This Spring, Pennsylvania Homeowners Can Use the State-Supported KEEP Home Energy Loan to Affordably Finance Upgrades for Efficiency, Health, Safety and Comfort
The National Energy Improvement Fund, Certified B Corp™ efficiency lender, has partnered with the Pennsylvania Energy Development Authority (PEDA) to offer affordable fixed-rate financing for Pennsylvania homeowners seeking efficiency upgrades.
ALLENTOWN, PA, March 24, 2025 — Pennsylvania homeowners can lower electricity and other home energy costs this spring by financing efficiency upgrades through the Keystone Energy Efficiency Program (KEEP) Home Energy Loan.
Administered by the National Energy Improvement Fund (NEIF) and supported by the Pennsylvania Energy Development Authority (PEDA)’s Energy Accelerator Program, the KEEP Home Energy Loan offers special low-monthly payment financing to homeowners who are actively seeking upgrades that will improve the efficiency, health, safety and comfort of their homes.
Home upgrades that qualify for financing through the KEEP Home Energy Loan include heating and cooling systems, heat pump water heaters, smart thermostats, electric vehicle chargers, and more. A complete list of eligible projects can be found at https://www.neifund.org/keepenergyloan/.
The program, launched in 2024, helps to make energy efficiency an affordable reality for homeowners across Pennsylvania. Customers can finance projects between $2,500 and $25,000 for up to 10 years, with fixed payments at below-market interest rates with no lien filed on their home and no penalty for prepayment.
“NEIF has been responsible for over $900 million in energy efficiency financing and has been an innovator in some of the nation’s most successful energy financing programs. We are happy to support PEDA’s work in helping Pennsylvania homeowners increase their homes’ comfort and energy savings by making quality energy improvements, installed by quality contractors, more affordable,” said NEIF Co-Chair and Managing Member Peter Krajsa.
Eligible properties include single-family homes, as well as owner-occupied multi-unit residential buildings that are used as a primary or secondary place of residence. Additionally, applicants must meet NEIF’s credit guidelines and work with a NEIF-Approved Contractor in order to qualify for financing.
With warmer weather on the horizon, now is the time for homeowners to spring into savings through state-supported, transparent financing. For more information, please visit https://www.neifund.org/keepenergyloan/.
